Romeo & Juliet Characteristics
Romeo:
Courageous-
Went through with marriage even though their families had been feuding for many years.
Devoted-
When Juliet "died" for him, he wanted to be with her whether it is in another life or not.
Stubborn-
Once his mind was set on marrying Juliet, he wasn't going to stop until he had it, & did not want anything other than her.
Confused-
At the beginning of the book, Romeo is in love with Rosaline, but soon forgets her when he meets Juliet; confused about love.
Fatalist-
"Oh I am fortunes fool!" illustrates the fact that Romeo believes that his relationship with Juliet is on the whims of fate.
Juliet:
Courageous-
Went through with marriage even though their families had been feuding for many years.
Patient-
In act 3, scene 1, Romeo is banished out of Verona, & although they are in love with each other, they meant enough to each other to wait.
Devoted-
She loved him enough to fake death for him, & then further to commit suicide for him.
Naive-
Juliet has never felt love, never been in love before, and one could say that she jumps in with both feet, & gives it all she has got right away.
